Masked Again: Paterson Public Schools
What science supports the safety & efficacy of school day masking of NJ school districts?
🚨URGENT ACTION NEEDED🚨 #njinsanity
As of January 3, 2023 Paterson Public Schools have reinstated their mask 😷 mandate forcing masks back on approximately 29,000 students and 3,400 staff members with no end date.
*If you recall, Paterson required masks until May 12, 2022, two months longer than the state mandate for masking, which was lifted on March 7th.
Superintendent Shafer states that the decision has been made under the guidance of Paterson's Director of Health, Dr. Persaud, as the city is currently experiencing a community spread due to "precipitous drop in the level of vaccination and specifically boosters and even among kids." 😳 ❓Do the vaccines💉 prevent transmission of the virus 🦠 or protect against contraction of the virus🦠 Dr. Persaud? Has school day masking been proven safe for NJ students & staff?
"Data shows hospitalizations are up 14% in Passaic County and cases are down 5% while just 32% received COVID booster shots. That number goes up to 62% for those over the age of 65.” However, only Passaic & Paterson have opted to re-mask their school districts out of 16 towns in Passaic County!
❌According to the Paterson's Mayor interpretation of #CovidScience:
👉🏽"We gotta do better with boosters," Mayor Andre Sayegh said. "Again it falls in line with the mindset that the pandemic is over, it's not, I have to continue to emphasize this ad nauseum."
"To me it's almost unconscionable that someone hasn't gotten one vaccine," Sayegh said."
