If bill S3240 becomes law, every adult who receives any vaccination in New Jersey will be automatically opted in to have their medical information uploaded onto the New Jersey Immunization Information System (NJIIS) registry. A patient's consent to have their vaccination status uploaded to this database is assumed upon their receipt of any vaccination given in New Jersey.
What is the NJIIS?
The government NJIIS database is a repository of private medical information accessible to the following: health care providers, schools, colleges, licensed childcare centers, and public agencies, and private organizations as determined by regulation of the New Jersey health commissioner. As the sponsor of bill S3240, Senator Vitale claims that the bill will “help improve immunization rates by providing notice to registrants of overdue or upcoming immunizations; and help control communicable diseases by assisting in the identification of persons who require immediate immunization in the event of a vaccine-preventable disease outbreak.”
Do you want reminders from the government about medical interventions?
Do you want to be discriminated against if you do not comply with their recommended medical interventions?
