Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who participated in our recent webinar addressing the Archdiocese of Newark's policy that affects students with religious exemptions. We are especially grateful to those who have sent letters, have signed and shared the Stand for Health Freedom petition.
It has come to our attention that the Newark Archdiocese is beginning to dismiss students who had been previously exempted, abruptly severing them from their communities. This troubling move appears to be at odds with the Newark Archdiocese's stated dedication to inclusivity, which encompasses diversity in ethnicity, race, income, and gender identities, but seemingly excludes vaccine status.
This measure is a clear reaction to our advocacy efforts, and now more than ever, we need your continued support and voices.
Here's how you can assist:
1. Share Your Personal Story: Â Let us know about your experience with Catholic schools and why the religious exemption matters to you. Personal messages can make a significant impact! Email your stories to newarkcatholicfamilies@yahoo.com (to be snail mailed directly to Cardinal Tobin) or send them directly to Cardinal Tobin at Archbishop's Office, 171 Clifton Ave., Newark, NJ 07104.
2. Raise Your Voice: Directly contact the Newark Archdiocese leadership to express your concerns. Reach out to Rev. Anthony Palombo at (973) 497-4005 and Rev. John Chadwick at (973) 497-4003.

4. Join X (formerly Twitter) follow the Newark Catholic account & LIKE/QUOTE & SHARE their daily posts to elevate the messages to the Newark Archdiocese.
We also ask for your prayers during this crucial time. Together, let's ensure that every child seeking a Catholic education has the opportunity to receive it.
Thank you for your commitment to this important cause!
Sharing and contacting. I went to an all girls catholic high school in Newark in my youth. This breaks my heart!
